As the country focuses on the absolute beauty and majesty of the Colorado Mountains, or on the excitement of the Front Range, southeast Colorado remains one of the best kept secret jewels of Colorado. My attached pictures are a testament to the spectacular scenes that can be found for those willing to venture away from the crowds, get up at dawn – or earlier – brave the quiet and cold winds of the plains and be blown away by your thoughts when the color of the sky electrifies your senses. If someone had painted this view, the critics would decry it as impossibly unrealistic and bordering on impressionistic, and yet there it is…..
